5月12日 May 12th, 2008Dear Emma,
Well I had my first dinner in Paris last night in a small Italian Cafe on the same street as my Hostel. The owner bought me a glass of wine and had an accordion player serenade me while I drank my cafe. It was so Paris!
Guess what I did this morning? I slept in until about 10:00am - and it felt really good to do so. My body is quite sore in places that I didn't even know I had muscles. My back feels like I have been thrown over someone's shoulder over and over again.... oh yeah I did!!!! The bruises are starting to multiply due to the training sessions I had with the Thai boxers, Kick boxers and Jiu-Jitsu participants. I really did enjoy those sessions!! Thanks guys for keeping it real and not treating me like a girly girl... one day I will make you proud of your leg conditioning!! My feet are not doing so well - very swollen, torn up pretty bad and quite bruised - all that walking is taking its toll.
Hey Rich, my left hip has a bruise that matches your rib bruise (mine is from Martyn the Swede's shin). Cool eh?
So today, I made it to the Louvre. I walked there and back so I don't feel guilty not doing my workout since I put in 6 hours of walking today (hope that is okay Brady?!) As I was walking with my map in hand, I had people stop and ask me for directions, some people were even french speaking LOL!!
It took me an hour to get to the Louvre and it was beautiful. I have managed to upload some photos, I hope you enjoy them!
The weather here is absolutely beautiful - It is very hot and I definitely didn't need the coats and heavy layers that I have. It is like our Canadian summer here!!
Oh yeah the Louvre - well I got to see the Arc de Triumph too and I sat outside of the pyramid and ate my fruit Parisian style. I took in the scultpures, and as you can see, I saw the Mona Lisa (which everyone told me was quite small, but it wasn't. It was as I had just imagined!) You would like the Louvre.... as there is so much to see.
On my way home to the hostel, I stopped to watch a small string orchestra play classical music on the rue de Louvre. I also took in Parisian style, walking while eating a stick of bread and cheese (at a brisk pace should bypass those cheese calories)!!
I have two nice roommates now - a young man from Scotland and a young girl from Hamilton Canada.
I took in some dinner at another cafe this evening and am now after I speak with you going to head up to the terrace and have a glass of wine while I listen to the sounds of Paris before heading off to bed - I have a very long day tomorrow - the Eiffel tower and Notre Dame.
Bonsoir mes petite l'enfant
Bisous Mommy
ps - tell TanTan I am taking pictures of shoes for her!!! トラックバックこの記事を参照しているブログ
