Dear Emma,

Today was a good day to relax especially after the late night or should I say early morning at the Disco.

I got up about 9am despite the fact that I came home late, just so I could have breakfast at the hotel. They serve a buffet breakfast and I would hate to miss their coffee. This morning, I had a little bit more to eat but started off with my usual of yogurt with fruit, croissant (have become addicted to these) and Bavarian Kaffe (I like this very much). After my second helping, I grabbed another Kaffe and headed for the internet.

 

It was a bit cool today with a fine mist so another tour of Munich was the ideal way to spend the rest of the day. I visited St. Paul's church and grabbed a couple of pictures of the beautiful architecture of this building (see the foto album "Munich, Bavaria").

 

Just a hop, skip and jump from my Hotel is the location of Oktoberfest (note to self.... book far in advance for this hotel in order to go to Oktoberfest) It is a very large area indeed and just being there sent shivers down my spine with excitement... imagine me at Oktoberfest... I would have so so much fun!  One day Emma, you and I will visit together and possibly take Gavin and Michael too.  At the Oktoberfest location is the beautiful statue of Bavaria and as I approached her, I was quite amazed at how large the sculpture actually was.

 

Continued onward to the City Museum location and just enjoyed the walk while taking in all the sites around me. I saw for the first time a May pole within a Bier Garten which was undescribably a perfect depiction of a Bier garten (foto in "Munich, Bavaria").

 

Chilled and wet from the walk, after changing into more weather appropriate clothing, dinner that evening was at a little place close to my hotel.  Tried Beef Carpaccio for the very first time as an appetizer which is thin slices of raw beef. It was very delicious indeed. My main meal was fiery pasta and I also got to taste authentic Bavarian Schnitzel which was very very very good.

 

For dessert, of course with out a doubt, Gulub Jamun and Kaffee across the street at Leone's.

 

Heading for bed soon, as an Austria excursion is on the agenda for tomorrow. I am very excited indeed.
